Vocational Skill Training
Vocational training sponsorships are addressed on a case by case basis. When a child is brought to the attention of Nafasi Project, our first goal is to get that child back into either primary or secondary school through an academic sponsorship. If continuing formal schooling is not a reality for a given child, then we look into vocational training opportunities. We conduct an evaluation where we cover the child's interests and future dreams, then we look into the best course of action to making their dreams a reality, through a training college or apprenticeship.
This type of sponsorship is usually a 2 year commitment.
Sponsored students in our vocational training program are matched with a career mentor; a Tanzanian man or woman to provide counseling and guidance throughout and after their training.
